Botswana - Linyanti
The small, intimate
permanent tented camps of the Linyanti are open throughout the year. Activities centre on game drives, with midday bushwalks as an additional option. Night drives and off-road driving are allowed in the private reserves of the Linyanti - unlike Chobe National Park - greatly enhancing predator viewing and particularly your chances of seeing wild dog. Some of the camps also offer water activities such as boating and fishing.
Several of the Linyanti's camps (e.g. Duma Tau, King's Pool, Savuti, and Zibalianja) have game hides from which you can watch wildlife close-up. The more adventurous may enjoy spending a night out in one of the hides, cooking dinner over a campfire and sleeping under the stars accompanied by an armed professional guide.
Unusually for Botswana, walking safaris are a speciality in the Selinda Reserve, where two simple but comfortable walking trails camps serve as the base for a two-night walking trail which makes a wonderful addition to a stay at one of Selinda's permanent camps.
To fully experience the Linyanti, we recommend a stay of 3 or 4 nights.
